About Bryony

Bryony’s a natural teacher. A former professional sailor (she was part of the Olympic development squad), she went on to become a sailing coach and then qualified as a primary school teacher, working for a number of different schools in the UK and abroad. It is this unique combination of skills, gleaned from the world of sport and education, that make her yoga classes so compelling.

She started yoga when pregnant with her first child and now admits yoga is the one thing that has brought balance to her life, both emotionally and physically. It is however the teaching that really comes first for Bryony. She is a natural at inspiring others and helping them achieve what they thought was unachievable.

Bryony is the first to admit she is not the perfect yogi. As a busy mum of three, she has little time for her own practice. But this is what makes Bryony’s teaching-style so engaging and popular among her pupils: she keeps it real. Her classes are welcoming to all, no matter where they are on their yoga journey, and her warm, positive and enthusiastic approach is what enables her students to become stronger and more confident.  Bryony carried out her first teacher training at The Yoga Garden with the Independent Yoga Network in May 2018. She is also a qualified children’s Yoga teacher. She is constantly evolving as a teacher and continues to develop her knowledge and skills; she recently qualified as a Yoga Therapist for stress and anxiety with The Minded Institute. Based in Emsworth on the South Coast, she has built a loyal community of yogis who attend classes, workshops and one-to-one sessions throughout the year.
